The main man at the helms of affairs in the country, President Muhamadu Buhari appreciates that Nigerian public always expect absolute perfection from their leaders, believing that only the best is good enough for them. This explains why he has always been directing the affairs of his administration towards achieving maximum output from the combined efforts he and his aides are putting in to achieve long-term results. President Buhari has achieved reduction in the cost of running the government by pruning down the number of unessential ministries and reducing the scope of his cabinet so as to make its members more effective and purposeful.
However, these commendable measures taken to remedy the vices that plague the economy are not without their drawbacks. They have presented temporary difficulties to the masses which would certainly ebb with the passage of time. Nigerians who are now grumbling or crying for a respite will definitely laugh aloud when their conditions of living began to change appreciably.
President Buhari came to power when the nation was facing daunting socio-economic challenges, as a result of the action or inactions of the PDP government. That was one of the reasons his administration has chosen to be slow deliberately in its actions before unveiling its developmental plans for the country. It is often said that impulsiveness and haste are the pastime of Devil, which eventually defeat the purpose of human beings when they attempt to attain any feat.
President Buhari’s government may be slow, but is progressing steadily on its principled course. President Buhari is resolute that his style of leadership must be different from the past; it must be a complete departure from what had obtained from the previous administration.
