Badaru mourns as Emir of Dutse Muhammadu-Sanusi dies at 79 

 Jigawa state governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has expressed grief over the demise of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Mohammadu Sanusi at the age of 79.

Governor Badaru in a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations, Malam Habibu Kila described the loss of the monarch as painful.

“I received with sadness and deep feeling of a great national loss, the news of the death of the Emir of Dutse, Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi,” Badaru said.

He described the late emir as a humble, religious and accessible leader whose conduct and character in life was unique.   

According to the governor, the death of the Emir has created a vacuum that is difficult to be filled, considering his contributions to the peace, stability and progress in his domain and the country in general.

“I pray for Allah’s infinite mercy to grant his soul Aljannah Firdausi,” the statement said.

The governor thus called on the entire people of the emirate and the state to bear the loss with the spirit of acquiescence to God’s will.

Earlier the Secretary to Dutse Emirate Council, Alhaji Ahmed Malami Dutse, had announced the demise of the emir who died in the evening of Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in a hospital in Abuja after a brief illness.

He said the emir left two wives and 13 children. According to him, the burial rite for the first class emir will take place Wednesday by 2pm at the Eid praying ground in Dutse.
