Justice Idajili, Abacha’s failed bank tribunal chairman dies at 82

Hon. Justice Steven Sado Idajili, a renowned jurist from Kogi State has passed on at the age of 82.

The late Judge is notable for being the chairman of the failed bank tribunal set up by the government of late General Sani Abacha.

He was the chairman of Grievance Redress Committee (GRC) set up by the Kogi State project coordinator of the agro processing productivity enhancement and livelihood improvement support project. 

Justice Idajili was also  part of a seven -man panel set up by the then  Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice Nasir Ajanah  to investigate the allegation of gross misconduct against the then State Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba.

Until his death he was the secretary of the Kogi State retired judges.

A statement by the family, signed by Francis Idajili, said Christian Wake would hold Wednesday, June 12, at Lokoja and interment on Thursday at  Efakwu Egume in Dekina local government Area of Kogi State.

“A Valedictory Court Session will be held on Thursday 13, at the Chief Judge’s Chambers, High Court of Justice, Lokoja,” the statement added.
