Aviation industry, key to Nigeria’s economic advancement – Chairman

The Chairman, League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) Mr Chucks Iwelunmo, on Sunday described aviation as pivotal to the economic advancement of Nigeria.
This is contained in a statement issued in Lagos ahead of LAAC’s 21st Annual Seminar slated for Oct. 22.
Iwelunmo said, “We have come of age and the nation must feel the impact of the aviation sector in the contribution to the Gross Domestic Product.
“This is because aviation is one of the key sectors that drive the economy.”
He said that aviation all over the world remains the mover of the economy, and Nigeria cannot afford to be left behind.
Iwelunmo said that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, Hajia Binta Bello, would chair the seminar with the theme: “Achieving a Win Win Aviation Sector in Nigeria.”
He said that issues concerning navigational facilities, airport infrastructure, civil aviation regulations, challenges and prospects of the aviation industry in Nigeria would be discussed at the event.
