Appointments: Nwifuru hints on templates, priorities in Ebonyi

Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state Sunday hinted that he would prioritise his appointments based on areas of specialisation.

Nwifuru disclosed this during a special thanksgiving service at the Emmanuel Catholic Church, Edukwuachi Agbaja, Nwofe in Izzi local government area of the state.

Nwifuru, who is the 4th executive governor of the state, disclosed that he would make the major appointment before Friday.

While he pleaded for understanding from the party faithful in his appointment, he said a good number of them would be accommodated.

He said, “Governance is different from politics, we must do justice to what is right as we believe in that. In due time we will start the main appointment and I’m sure that will happen before Friday.

“To our party, we will get politicians to do the job of politicians; we will get professionals to do the job of professionals.

There are so many areas that need professionals to be in charge, we will discuss with the party to allow professionals who are not partisan politicians to handle it.

“But I want to assure you, in as much as we are not going to accommodate everybody, a good number of our fateful party members will be accommodated in our government.

“I want to assure Ebonyians as I said in my inaugural speech, experience is the best teacher. I served two governors and I benefited a lot from them. By the special grace of God Almighty, our government will do justice to all the issues that concern the Ebonyi people.”Politics is difficult and I want to tell politicians, everybody now wants to be the friend of the present Governor and a friend of the former governor, some people want to cause crisis a lot want to bring disaffection and gossip. You don’t gossip about a sitting Governor, I am Stubborn when I was a speaker and now I am the governor.”
