The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Abia state chapter State Working Committee (SWC) has approved and ratified the indefinite suspension handed over to Dr Alex Otti, the party’s governorship candidate of 2019 election in Abia state for alleged anti-party activities.
In the same vein, the party also approved and ratified the expulsion of Dr Nkem Okoro, the factional state chairman from the party for alleged anti-party activities as well.
In a release signed by the state party chairman, Rev Augustine Ehiemere and Elder Sunday Onukwubiri respectively, the party Monday said the punitive measures take immediate effect.
The party in the state pointed out that the party took the decision following the suspension of Dr Alex Otti on 24/6/2019 from the party by his ward 5 Ehina Uguru Osokwa Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa L.G.A Abia state.
It also said the expulsion of Mr Nkem Okoro on 15/6/2019 from the party by his ward 2, Arochukwu L.G.A, Abia state equally follows same procedure.
That today, the 15th day of July, 2019, the State Working Committee of our great party deliberated on the report of the committee set up by SWC of the party in Abia State to look into the suspension/expulsion of Dr Alex Otti and Nkem Okoro from the party by their respective wards and after its deliberations on the issues/allegations levelled against the two persons herein mentioned, it is hereby resolved as follows:
That the State Working Committee of APGA in Abia state hereby ratify the suspension of Dr Alex Otti from the party by his ward 5 Ehina Uguru Osokwa Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa L.G.A Abia state.
“That the State Working Committee of APGA in Abia state further resolved to suspend and hereby indefinitely suspend Dr Alex Otti from APGA on the grounds therein stated in his suspension letter/document duly signed by members of the State Working Committee.
“That the State Working Committee of APGA hereby ratify the expulsion of Mr. Nkem Okoro on 15/6/2019 from the party by his ward 2, Arochukwu L.G.A, Abia state.
“It will be imperative to state categorically clear that the era of impunity in APGA, Abia state is gone, thus the Abia state Leadership of APGA is resolute to instil party discipline and maintain party supremacy at all levels of the party.
“The State Working Committee of the Party pledges its support to the National Leadership of the Party led by Ozomkpu, Victor Ike Oye and the Board of Trustee Chairman and the National Leader, Dr. Willy Obiano on his exemplary leadership which he has brought to bear in the party.”
