Anxiety mounts as ‘Fulani’ bandits invade Zamfara market, kill twin brothers

Gunmen suspected to be unrepentant bandits Monday, stormed a weekly market in Birnin Tsaba village of Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara state, killing twin brothers

An Eye witness who identified himself as Sani Muhammad Birnin Tsaba told Blueprint in a telephone interview that the twin brothers were from Birnin Tsaba village in Birnin Magaji local government,

He said the villagers also killed four Fulani men in a reprisal attack.

“The bandits went straight to where Hassan and Husaini were operating their business and shot them dead and ran away.

“When the people of Birnin Magaji town got the information about the killing of the twin brothers by Fulani bandits, they mobilized and went in search of any Fulani men in order to take vengeance against the killing of the twins which led to killing of four Fulani men instantly.”

When contacted, the state police command public relations officer, SP. Muhammad Shehu confirmed the incident while attributing the killing of the twin brothers as reprisal attack by the Fulani bandits whose people were killed by the people of Birnin Magaji town sometime last year.

SP Mohammed Shehu further stated that report available to the command indicated that five people including Hassan and Husaini were killed, stressing that the command is making all it could to arrest the perpetrators of the act
