Anambra records large turnout of voters, late arrival of voting materials

Anambra State is currently receiving massive turnout of voters in the ongoing 2023 Presidential and National Assembly elections across her 326 electoral wards.

Blueprint correspondent, who was monitoring the election, reports presence of voters at many polling units in Awka capital city, Anaocha LGA, Onitsha (Onitsha South LGA), Orumba North and Awka North LGA.

At 026 Ezinano ( Agulu ward 3) and PU 027 Agulu 3 (Anao no voting materials and INEC officials were seen as at 8.47am, just as at Ọbuno PU 07 in Ebenebe Awka North LGA, voting materials came at 10.03 am and election begun around 11.15am.

Similarly, no INEC  materials and officials were seen at all the polling units in Awgbu, Orumba North LGA, and at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Fegge Onitsha, Onitsha South ( PU 18 and 19) voters as at 9.30am even though there were security personnel and voters waiting for them.

However, accreditation and voting started at 8.50am at PU 05, 08, 019 Umudimakasi square (Amatutu, Agulu ward 2) where the Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi will vote.
