Election: Voting exercise orderly, peaceful in Darki biyu, Jabi

Accreditation exercise commenced at INEC Polling Zone EC 30 B Darki biyu in Jabi area as aerly as 8.25am.

According to the presiding officer, Ene Isah, INEC materials arrived as early as 8.01am and accreditation started immediately.

Voting according to her started few minutes later.

As at the time of filing this report, around 11:02 about 82 people have so far been accredited and voters were seen exercising their civic duties peacefully without any hinderances.

In a chat with Blueprint, Isah confirmed that there has been orderliness so far, saying the only challenge they had was people coming to voting centre with their temporary voting card.

“We have not recorded any hitches so far. Our BVAS is working fine, the security agents are on ground and electorates are exercising their civic rights without any problem.

“However, some of them came to the polling centres with their temporary voting card which clearly violates the INEC guidelines,”

When asked how they were able to overcome, Ene added: “We simply restate INEC’s position and they left while some are still hanging around, insisting they should be allowed to vote but they are not making any serious issue or trouble out of that,”

Expressing his grievances, Musa Haliru, one of the voters with the temporary voting card said he came to the centre based on the information he had saying he thought he would be able to exercise his civic rights.
