Akeredolu imposes 24-hr curfew on Ondo community

Ondo state governor Arakunrin Oluwaroimi Akeredolu, has announced a 24-hr curfew in the ancient town of Ikare-Akoko, headquarters of Akoko North-east local government area of the state.

This decision was taken during the state security meeting chaired by the governor in Akure, the state capital.

In a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde, there should be no movement or any unauthorised activities till further notice.

This followed the violent clash that erupted in the ancient town despite government intervention and meeting with the monarchs in the area, Olukare of Ikare, Oba Akadiri Momoh and the Owa Ale of Iyometa Oba Adeleke Adegbite to rein-in thier subject for peace.

Security officials have however been directed to ensure strict compliance as investigation was already on to unravel the cause of the clash.
