First Lady Federal Republic of Nigeria Hajiya Aisha Buhari Saturday distributed foods items to vulnerable groups in Gombe
Gombe state First Lady Hajiya Asmau Inuwa Yahaya who stated this during the distribution in Gombe, said the wife of the president has the people of Gombe in her mind.
“The First Lady has the people of Gombe in mind that was why she demonstrated such through the distribution of food
“This is because she wants to give them a sense of belonging,” she said.
She said there was no religious nor ethnic consideration as the food items were meant for those that needed the assistance and that distribution was done based on the needs of the vulnerable group.
The first Lady appreciated the groups for their cooperation during the distribution.
She further called on the leaders of the groups to do justice while sharing the items.
In his remarks, the Special Assistant Media and publicity to Mr President in the office of the First Lady, Malam Abdulahi Aliyu, said the decision to share the foods was informed by the nature of Gombe people who were predominantly self-reliant.
Aliyu, commended governor Inuwa Yahaya, for the good work he started since he assumed office.
Chairman of the people living with disabilities, Alhaji Umar Ali Goro, thanked the wife of the president Yahaya for the gesture and called on her to do more.
The food items which included 1000 bags of rice,600 cartons of spaghetti and 300 25 liters of vegetable oil were distributed to correctional homes, women groups and orphanage in the state.
