The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency Hon. Chinedu Ogah on Saturday cleared to the controversy surrounding the location of a new Federal collage of education in Ebonyi state, saying he single-handedly attracted it.
The federal government recently approved some federal colleges of education with one to be situated in Ebonyi.
Two serving senators of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have often times claimed to have attracted the college to the state through their bills and motions on the need to establish federal college in the state.
Addressing Journalists in his – Amagu country home in Ikwo local government area of the state, Ogah who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC) said ,“ I heard that some people said they attracted federal college of Education to the state, I am just laughing because I know what God did.
“It is only in my local government in the state that President Buhari won in Ebonyi and the entire south-east, I delivered my local government to Mr. President and I have to make case for my people.
“We attracted this college of Education. Anambra people would have taken it but by the time I was able to analyze the votes we gave Mr. President, I met Mr. President himself, Senate President, Speaker of House of Representatives, Minister of Education, Chief of Staff to Mr. President, they said yes it is good to bring the college of education to Ebonyi and today they have approved college of education for Ebonyi. But I saw some people saying that they attracted it, let it be.
“One day, we will bring papers on how the college came up. Federal Technical college is also approved for the state. If this federal college of education approved by the federal government is sited anywhere in the state, it is for Ebonyi state because it will give job opportunities for people of the state”. He said.
He however, appreciated the National Assembly for the quick passage of 2020 budget, saying it will help the country plan properly.
