The Kano state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has charged information officers and media aides to adopt modern techniques of accessing and dissemination of accurate information for the well being of the state.
The governor stated this during the opening ceremony of a three-day workshop organised by the Ministry of Information and internal affairs for information officers and media aides held at Tahir Hotel, Kano.
Represented by the deputy governor, Alhaji Abdulsalam Gwarzo, said the people of the state rely on information officer for accurate information on the activities of government, hence they should be abreast with modern techniques of dissemination of accurate information with the aim of achieving the set objectives.
He said the era of analogue system of accessing and dissemination of information is now history, digital means of accessing and disseminating of accurate information have taken over, as such, information officers should make themselves abreast with how to make effective use of the social media , website , blogs and other platforms to achieve effective service delivery.
Governor Yusuf charged the participants to always relay the needed information to the general public with expertise and commitment geared towards moving the state to greater heights.
