Abia SDP vows to end PDP reign

The Abia state chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) last Saturday held its state congress with a strong warning to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that by 2019, it would become histor y in the state.
At the end of the congress which was peaceful and successful, Hon.
Chidi Nwosu who emerged as the state chairman advised the party to reposition Abia and called on the ruling PDP to start packing its load from the government house.
Mrs.
Juliet Nwabuike emerged as the deeputy chairman, while Hon Okereke Ogbonna emerged as the State Secretary.
Hon. Nwosu who was a former member representing Umuahia south in the Abia state House of Assembly assured party members of level play field in all the affairs of the party in the state.
According to him, the party will ensure that the Abia community imbibes the message of the SDP by delivering the dividend of democracy to the people.
He regretted that over the years, PDP has been unable to provide for the people, hence the resolve of SDP “to drive away power monsters holding the state to ransom.” He stated that the people that matters in the party in PDP and who knows the rudiment of electioneering are now in SDP.
He said they will put a stop to rigging as they willing to ensure that elections are transparent.
According to him, they are people that will deliver democracy dividends to the people, adding that “no member of the party would shoved aside”.
The congress committee chairman, Umah called for support for the state chairman, Nwosu to move the state for ward.
He described the congress as free and fair and a demonstration of superiority of SDP in the state and the countr y.
The party, he said has been in existence for the past 26 years.
