61 orphans receive N117,000 each as education support in Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has on sunday inaugurated the presentation of ATM cards to 61 orphans drawn from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state as part of education support provided by Qatar Charity Foundation.

In his remarks, Buni appreciated the efforts of the foundation which according to him has made positive impact on the lives of orphans and their caregivers.

He urged good spirited individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture.

Buni also announced cash assistance of 50,000 and one bag of rice to each guardian of the orphans by Yobe state government.

In his address, the state coordinator of the programme, who is also the Special Adviser to the governor on Religious Affairs, Ustaz Baba Gana M Kyari, said this is the third time Buni is hosting orphans at Government House as well as offering them supports.

He thanked the foundation for supporting people of the state through various programmes aimed at making life more better.

On his part, the Country Desk Officer Qatar Charity Foundation (Nigeria), Malam Shu’aibu Atiku, commended the state government as well as Special Adviser to the state Governor on Religious Affairs for making the work of Qatar Foundation more easier by compiling the names of all the beneficiaries.

He finally sought for bringing more orphans into the data base of the foundation for support.
