5 injured, vehicles destroyed in fresh Kano #EndSARS protest

It has now been officially confirmed that five people sustained various degrees of injury with  seven cars burnt to ashes in addition to  vandalising eight, following a fresh #EndSARS protest which turned violent at Sabon-Gari area of Kano metropolis.

Confirming the incident at a press briefing in Kano Tuesday evening, the state Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Habu Sani said Galaxy shopping mall and the Summit Lodge and Chicken Republic were also vandalized. He however confirmed that there was no loss of live during the protest.

According to him, upon getting wind of what was taking place, his command quickly swung into action by drafting police personnel to the area, to ensure that the lives of innocent people were adequately protected positing that it was the constitutional responsibility of the police to  maintain law and order as enshrined in the constitution and that people’s lives have to be protected  under every circumstance.

He said in the areas so far assessed by his men, seven vehicles burnt to ashes with eight vandalized, adding that he could not  categorically say who were exactly behind the dastardly act as members of three different groups had signified their intention to  protest.
