2023: PDP flags off governorship campaign in Yobe North

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday January 4, 2023 flagged-off its zonal governorship campaigns in Gashua, Yobe North Senatorial District in the state.

The party’s Boards of Trustee member, Alhaji Adamu Waziri, expressed optimism with what they have seen, adding that the campaign was part of the mobilisation efforts towards the 2023 general elections.

He noted that this is a season of mobilising and sensitising the electorates to right choice when.

“We want the electorates to make the right decisions so that our communities, our societies and our country would have some signs of relief and enjoy the dividend of democracy which is what leaders are expected to deliver,” he said.

Also speaking, the PDP deputy national chairman (North), Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum, said it was time for young voters to take their destiny into their hands.

Damagum stated that from what they have seen so far in Gashua, PDP would emerge victorious in Yobe state because the PDP is ripe and the enthusiasm is solid.

“If a political party cannot be able to manage it internal problem, there is no way people should give them the opportunity to lead. What is happening within the APC in Yobe cannot be resolved within themselves, it indicates that the party itself has failed,“ he said.

He expressed confidence in the ability of the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Sheriff Abdullahi to govern Yobe well and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state if elected.

On their parts Abdullahi and his running mate, Bashir Abubakar Sadiq, promised better leadership if elected.

They appealed to the people of Yobe North to conduct themselves during the election.
