2014 Hajj: MPWB to begin orientation exercise for intending pilgrims

Federal Capital territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB) has concluded arrangements to commence the first phase of the education and orientation exercise at the area councils for all intending pilgrims for this year’s hajj from the territory.
Director, Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (MPWB), Hajiya Fatima Suleiman Gummi, said this while chatting with newsmen at the weekend.

She urged intending pilgrims from the territory for this year’s hajj to participate in the exercise which was scheduled to commence next month before the Islamic month of Ramadan.
The exercise would be conducted in three phases to enable intending pilgrims get enlightened on the hajj rites as well as new policies introduced for this year’s hajj by the Saudi authorities and National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) adding that, scholars have been fully mobilised for the exercise.

She, therefore, warned all intending pilgrims who are yet to return their completed application forms to as a matter of urgency return them so as to enable the Board process their travel document or risk the chance of performing the Hajj.
In the same vein, the Board has also concluded arrangements to begin a radio enlightenment programme that would be aired through the FCTA owned radio station (Aso Radio 93.5 fm) from June 2, for the intending pilgrims.
The radio programme would be aired every Monday and Fridays from 7.30pm to 8.00pm each day from June to end of August 2014.
Intending pilgrims, especially the first timers, had been advised to take advantage of the programme and enhance their Islamic knowledge on Hajj rites as well as important information that would assist them in attaining acceptable hajj.
