A time would always come in the life of a people when they would one way or the other take stock of the reason for their failure. There is never a paved expressway to a people’s truly beneficial freedom. When leadership is bestowed on a people on a platter of gold, the value of the platter far often overshadows the task ahead. This is simply the scenario we find ourselves as people in Kogi state. Prior to the inception of this administration, the problem that has greatly impacted negatively on the growth and development of Kogi state is that of leadership. It is indeed trite to say the problem with our state is that of leadership, leadership and leadership. Today, Kogi state has been blessed by providence that we have a person in the mould of Zakari Alfa, who is coming to lay the foundation for the state’s greatness. He will change and redirect the journey of our development positively.
We, as a people, need a leader that is in the mould of the Alfa that is vision wise and development oriented. We also need a leader that is better equipped intellectually to fight the symmetric and asymmetric warfare of the people. That leader is ZAKARI ALFA.
He has proved time and time again through his dealings and exemplary way of life that he has the leadership ingredients to add value to the developmental drive and yearnings of the Kogi people. He is a born and astute leader who is incorruptible because he is a firm believer in good governance. He is a man that people acclaim as a loather of corruption. He is a man who is a leader’s leader as he does not subscribe to the bossy type of leadership philosophy.
Kogi state’s proximity to the nation’s capital, Abuja, he believes, gives it an opportunity for speedy development if the right policy framework is formulated and implemented. He has developed a well articulated humane but acceptable policy direction for the state to speedily harness the comparative advantages which its nearness to the FCT offers. The road to building confidence between the government and the people is the provision of infrastructural facilities for the people. The people, he feels, will swallow all bitter pills policies formulated and enunciated by the government if they see sincerity at play through the government’s provision of developments in its physicality.
Alfa is a proponent of developments in its physicality and a new type of politics political philosophy. He is always abreast of happenings in government because this administration of the Bello years is one of the most complaint of the bad government philosophy since the creation of Kogi state. In the political arena, he believes that we need to continue with the new type of politics philosophy. He believes we also need a government free from the interest of vested interest. The Alfa administration, if voted into power, shall collapse all interest into one, and that interest is the interest of the Kogi people. Any other interest that contravenes that of the people shall be ignored for the rake of the people. It is on record that many of the aspirants for the gubernatorial race of Kogi state today are known to be attached to a known godfather and vested interest and it a well known fact that Zakari Alfa always attributes his aspiration to the call of the people and divine inspiration.
The people of Kogi state are hereby for the sake of good governance, foundational stability, peaceful and developmental political enhancement called upon to exercise their franchise by voting for the economic, political and institutional growth of the state by voting for Zakari Alfa.
In the economic aspect, he advocates economic policies that have the people’s welfare at the centre of its formulation and implementation. He constitutionally that the people’s welfare and security is, to a large extent, the purpose believes of governments all over the globe. With the dwindling receipt by states from the federation account it is now up to each state government to develop purposeful and workable policies to develop its state’s economy through deliberate concentration on its areas of comparative advantages. Alfa is well abreast and informed on our states areas of comparative advantages and by the assistance, understanding and commitment of the people he shall use it to add value to the economy of the state.
Administratively, his time will witness a pro-people regime; a time in which the people would all see genuine democratic principles and initiative in action. Alfa believes that if democracy is about the people then the common man, the bourgeoisie, politician, bureaucrats, traders and market women, religious groups and leaders should have an indispensable role and say in the running of governments which, he believes, derived its existence and legitimacy from the people. He shall only appoint qualified individuals into the many positions in the state’s administration because this new type of political dispensation of his in Kogi state entails probity, accountability and above all square pegs in square holes regime.
Alfa as a man of justice shall create powerful institutions to add strong value to the running of government to reduce incidences of corruption. He knows the effect of corruption to the death of so many institutions in the state. As a man who has zero tolerance for corruption, he has his mind fixed on service delivery to the people. He has also vowed to peer review all the ministries, department and agencies from time to time in order to see performance rating of its leaders and in the process commend and retain performing ones and shoving non performing ones from government services.
Finally, we call on our fellow citizens and voters in Kogi state to vote for hope, vote for service delivery, vote for a new type of politics which we are all kings; vote for security due to oneness and progress of all, vote for pro people policies; vote for anti-corruption policies in Kogi and vote for a leader whose major leitmotive is love for the Kogi people.
