Zamfara monarch harps on prayers to end banditry

The Emir of Moriki in Zamfara state, Alhaji Bashar Ismaila, has called on the people of the emirate to be more dedicated to prayers to seek spiritual intervention to end banditry in the state.

Speaking at the official opening of the annual Tafsir at the Miriki Jumuat Mosque Monday, the traditional ruler stated that the  period of fasting is an opportunity for the Muslim Ummah to dedicate themselves in prayers.

“This is another period for all  to return to God to seek for spiritual intervention against the ugly trend of banditry ravaging our communities,” he added.

Ismaila also appealed to wealthy individuals to support the needy ones financially and otherwise in order to address the current situation.

“The critical economic hardship that affects people, not only Zamfara state, but Nigeria in general, requires support from everyone, especially, the wealthy individuals,” he added.

He stressed the need for people to seek for forgiveness from the Almighty Allah and repent from deeds during the fasting period.
