Zamfara lawmaker grants scholarship to 118 students

The House of Representatives member representing Maru and Bungudu federal constituency in Zamfara state, Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu, has granted scholarship to 118 students of Federal College of Education Technical Gusau.

In an interview with Blueprint shortly after the disbursement of the scholarship to the beneficiaries in Bungudu town, the headquarters of Bungudu local government, Thursday, the chairman of the Hon. Zubairu Scholarship Committee, Muhammad Adamu said the gesture would be sustained.

According to him, the beneficiaries were drawn from Maru and Bungudu local government which included males and females.

“The aim of the scheme is to assist the less privileged students to pay for their registration easily and to further their education at tertiary levels”, he said

He pointed out that hundreds of students studying in various universities, polytechnics and Colleges of Education outside the state were also been granted similar scholarships to further their education under Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu’s scholarship programme in the constituency.

The chairman enjoined students who benefited from the scholarship scheme to make use of the money given to them judiciously to complete their studies successfully.

In an interview with one of the beneficiaries identified as Sajida Sahabi, he commended the efforts of Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu for securing the scholarships to them, stressing that it would go along way in assisting them to complete their registration.

She urged other lawmakers representing Zamfara state to emulate Hon. Zubairu in assisting their constituents to further their education at tertiary levels.
