The newly appointed Commissioner for Insurance/CEO, National Insurance Commission (NAICOM), Mr. Olusegun Ayo Omosehin, has said the federal government intended to achieve a $1 trillion economy by 2026.

He said this Friday in Abuja at a brief take-over ceremony at NAICOMs’ headquarters, Abuja.

“With this target in cognisance, the insurance sector is expected to play a critical role and contribute to its achievement,” he said.

Following his arrival, the CFI had an interactive session with the entire management and staff of the Commission, and in his opening remarks, he said the executive management would set a new tone for the Nigerian Insurance sector.

His predecessor, Mr. Olorundare Sunday Thomas, who was in attendance to officially hand over to the new CFI, thanked the staff for their support while in office.

The new CFI is optimistic of achieving a more vibrant insurance sector, urging the management and staff to work as a team to achieve President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
