Zamfara: Corps member renovates block of toilets at GGDSS 

A corps member in Zamfara state, Tashi Mannesseh David, has renovated a block of four toilets for use of students at the Government Girls’ Day Secondary School (GGDSS), Janyau, in Gusaulocal government area.

Tashi, an indigene of Nasarawa state and graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Jos carried out the project as part of his personal Community Development Service (CDS) initiatives.

Speaking at the commissioning and handing over of the project Monday, the state coordinator, NYSC, Alhaji Abdusalam Alhassan, highlighted the crucial role of corps members as change agents in their host communities.

He described community development initiatives as a key component of the one year NYSC programme which provides an avenue for corps members to address felt needs of their hosts. 

He commended Tashi for his efforts and dedication in carrying out the laudable project.

He called on the community leader of the Janyau community and the principal of the school to handle the facility with great care and utilise it for the benefit of all.

Speaking earlier, the principal of the school, Hajiya Sa’adatu Almajir, stated that the project is of great importance to the school and commended Tashi for mobilising resources to carry out the project.
