An angry mob yesterday killed a 50-year-old Pastor, Dike Ocha, of Assemblies of God Church for alleged spiritual killing of a six-year-old girl, Fatima Yusuf, in Kankia, Katsina state.
Blueprint gathered that Ocha was killed by the youth group yesterday morning following the alleged discovery of Fatima’s body in his house at the state low-cost housing area on Kano Road in the town.
Our findings revealed that Fatima was declared missing by her parents since February 1, this year, and suddenly her body was allegedly found in the house of Ocha.
An eyewitness, one Hadi Kallah, told our correspondent that the mob was provoked on hearing that some patrs of Fatima’s body were removed for spiritual purpose after being killed by the late Pastor Dike.
The source said the deceased was seriously injured by the mob before he was taken to hospital by the security agents and later died.
Another source revealed to Blueprint that Dike confessed to have committed the offence together with the Eze Igbo of Kankia, Mr Lawrence Peter, before he was finally killed.
The state Police command’s PPRO, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, while confirming the killing, said the Eze Ibgo of Kankia sustained minor injuries from the attack following the quick intervention of security agents.
According to him, two churches and property of the Eze Igbo were burned to ashes and a car was destroyed.
Sadiq said the body of the girl was only found close to the pastor’s house and that the youths suspected that he killed her.
