Youth minister congratulates Adamawa governor-elect

The Minister of Youth Development and former Governor of Adamawa state Boni Haruna, has congratulated the new Governor-elect of Adamawa Senator Jibrilla Bindow of the All Progressives Congress Party (APC), for his electoral victory at the just concluded governorship election.

In a statement by the Assistant Director, Press and Public Information of the ministry Olusola Abiola, Haruna called on the Governor-elect to show commitment and focus to the wellbeing of the people.

According to the statement, the Minister implored the incoming Governor to give priority to the communities recovered from insurgents by rebuilding destroyed infrastructure, properties and businesses in these areas.

The statement also appraised Adamawa indigenes for shunning violence and embracing peaceful conduct before, during and after the election describing this act as a symbolic demonstration of the deepening of democracy in the state.
“Against the backdrop of the recent political and security challenges which the State has witnessed, the Minister commends the people of Adamawa State for shunning violence and embracing peaceful conduct before, during and after the election,” it said.
The statement however warned that the outcome of the election must not be used to divide the state, while urging the Governor-elect to run an all inclusive government especially in the area of service delivery.
