Youth council calls for peaceful co-existence in Nasarawa 



The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has called for peaceful co-existence among Nasarawa citizens.

The council enjoined them to exercise caution in their utterances and public engagement.

The NYCN chairman, Comrade Ja’afar Loko, made the call Wednesday, in a communiqué issued at the end of a week- long activity marking the 2022 International Youth Day in Lafia, the Nasarawa state capital.

Loko said the week-long event was organised to mark the day and draw the attention of policy makers and the general public to issues affecting young people in the state and beyond.

“We call on government; religious, social and corporate organisations to take steps to address the challenges confronting young people to enable them make a better living.

He said the council has resolved to constitute a Public-Traditional Security Intelligence Gathering Committee across local communities to help to articulate vital information capable of checking insecurity in the state.

Loko appreciated the remarkable contributions of Governor Abdullahi Sule -led administration to the advancement and well- being of young people in the state in the area of appointments, job creation, skill acquisition and general wellbeing.

He therefore, called on the youths in the state to channel their energies towards ensuring violence- free election during the  2023 general elections.

The chairman also called on members of the public to elect tested and trusted leaders who are beyond deceit and sentiment for the betterment of the state and Nigeria at large.
