Paris Olympic tickets: Gumel hails 4 Nigeria teams’ feat, salutes AFN

The Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) has congratulated the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) for four team Nigeria relay qualification ahead of 2024 Olympics scheduled at Paris, France.

According to a statement by the NOC spokesman, Tony Nezianya on Wednesday, “Engr. Habu Gumel, President on behalf of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), extends his heartfelt congratulations to the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) in the Bahamas, which secured qualification for the four relay teams to represent Nigeria at the upcoming Paris Games.

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment of your federation, coaches, and the athletes themselves.

“The qualification of these four relay teams — the 4/X100 (Men & Women), 4X400 (Men), 4X400 (Mixed), and Men’s 4X400, are significant milestones that fill us with immense pride and joy.

“The relay events hold a special place in the Olympic tradition, and your athletes’ ability to unite as a cohesive unit and excel in these disciplines is a true testament to the strength and depth of Nigerian athletics.

The Games are scheduled to run from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
