Political parties in crisis can’t give good governance, ADP warns Nigerians

The opposition Action Democratic Party (ADP) has warned Nigerians, especially the people of Ondo state, not to vote either the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), saying any party in crisis cannot deliver good governance.

Presenting certificate of return to its Ondo state governorship candidate Wednesday in Abuja, National Chairman of the ADP, Engr. Yabagi Yusuf Sani, said only ADP and few others conducted credible primary election devoid of rancour.

According to Sani, the tumultuous primaries of other parties serve as a cautionary tale for us. While they engage in internal conflicts, we remain dedicated to serving the interests of the people of Ondo state.

He said: “Following a successful primary election on April 25 at the Watts Garden Hotel in Akure, Ondo State, Hon. Akinnodi was declared the winner. The election process was peaceful, and our statutory delegates gave him their unanimous support as our candidate.

“I want to emphasize the transparency, fairness, and harmony of the primary election. We have not received any complaints since the results were announced, which speaks to the ADP’s unity and determination to reach our objectives.”

While warning Nigerians against APC and PDP, the ADP national chairman said: “I question the capability of a political party that is nearly torn apart by its own primary election to unite

and effectively serve the public. A party plagued by internal discord cannot govern effectively or implement policies that benefit the populace. I encourage the citizens of Ondo State to consider their options carefully; a wrong choice could result in continued poor governance.

“We have repeatedly missed opportunities for positive change, and just when it seems we are making progress, we fall back into greater difficulties. Ondo State has the chance to lead by example and initiate genuine, meaningful change.

“I urge the people of Ondo State to be wary of parties embroiled in internal conflicts, those that fail to keep their promises, and those that cling to power without a commitment to service and public welfare. It’s time to move past the political parties that have led us to poverty, frustration, and despair.

“I call on Ondo State to lead the way in Nigeria’s transformation by electing a dedicated, thoughtful, and charismatic leader. The time for change is now, and the ADP is fully committed to this journey. We will not waver until we reach our goal.

Responding, the candidate, Hon Ayodeji Emmanuel Akinnodi, while thanking the leadership of the ADP, said the party has shown that it believes in the youths and competency.

He, however, promised that within two years of his administration if elected that lack of electricity in Ondo state will be a thing of the past.

“I will like to use this medium to thank my great party for giving me opportunity to run. We believe so much that the time has come for us as a state to enjoy and benefit from the resources that the God has given to the state but has been lacking for so long.

“The time has come for the people of Ondo state to enjoy good health cares services, good education and good governance.

“In term of unemployment, the time has come for the youths to enjoy good employment because my government will create jobs. We have the solutions to create job and we will make it manifest.

“In terms of insecurity, this is one of those things we will tackle. Those who want to go to their farms will go and there will be abundant food for us to eat.”
