Yobo hits 100th cap

Super Eagles’ captain, Joseph Yobo, yesterday reached a milestone and was handed a starting shirt against Argentina to become the first Nigerian player to reach a century 100 caps for the reigning African champions
Yobo partnered Kenneth Omeruo, Juwon Oshaniwa and Efe Ambrose in defence as the Eagles fought for a slot in the round of 16 for the first time in 16 years.

He made his debut for Nigeria’s national side on March 24, 2001 in an Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia in Chingola and has featured in three FIFA World Cup Finals as well as six African Cup of Nations Finals.
Aside from scoring seven goals for the country, the biggest highlight of his international career was leading the Super Eagles to win the 2013 African Cup of Nations staged in South Africa.
The 33-year-old has taken part in all of Nigeria’s games at this summer’s World Cup Finals.
