Yobe Assembly now to begin screening of Commissioner-nominees Wednesday

Yobe State House of Assembly is set to commence screening of commissioner- nominees on Wednesday November 6, 2019 having received a request letter of confirmation from the state Governor Mai Mala Buni.

This was disclosed by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Isa Bello, at the Assembly’s chamber on Tuesday.

Those to be screened on Wednesday 6th November 2019, are former legislatures who served in both state and national assemblies. They include Abdullahi Usman Kukuwa and Goni Lawan Bukar who were immediate past Members House of Representatives, Alkali Abdulkadir Jajere former Senator in the state, Yakubu Sidi Karasuwa former APC governorship candidate in 2019 election and Yerima Lawan Mahmud.

Others to be screened on Thursday November 7, 2019 are Dr. Abubukar Garba Iliya, Mustapha Musa, and immediate past Commissioners of Information Mala Musti, Education Muhammad Alamin and that of Housing, Bukar Dauda.

The incumbent Director General on Press Affairs to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego, Dr. Muhammad Lawan Gana, Barma Shettima, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idriss and Muhammad Gagwiyo Garba are to be screened on Tuesday  November 12, 2019.

The final batch to be screened comprises of Dr. Mairo Amshi, Umaru
Wakil Duddayi, Sale Samanja, Hauwa Bah Abubakar and Professor Munkaila
which will hold on Wednesday November 13, 2019.

The state assembly had earlier received a request letter on October 30, 2019 from the Yobe state governor, signed by the acting Secretary to the State Government for the confirmation of the 20 commissioners and 20 special advisers.
