The All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara state branch stalwart, Alhaji Sha’aya Sarkin-Fawa has described the former governor of the state, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari as the best candidate for the position of national chairman of the party in the forthcoming national convention of the party.
Sarkin-Fawa made this known in a chat with journalists in Gusau, Sunday, stressing that Yari is capable of leading the APC ahead of 2023 general elections, considering his vast experience in politics both in Zamfara and at national level.
According to him, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari is among politicians that formed the APC, saying he has never defected to other political party as is in the character of many Nigerian politicians today.
“He was the state secretary and chairman of the defunct ANPP and then member, House of Representatives representing Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency between 2007 and 2011.
“Considering his experience as the longest serving Nigerian Governors’ Forum Chairman, Yari has the qualities to become a national chairman of the APC,” Sarkin-Fawa added.
He called on the National Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee of the party, led by Gov Mai Mala Buni to do the needful for the party to succeed in the 2023 general elections by electing Yari as chairman of the party.
