There was crying and wailing in Asaba as one of the new generation Church, Charismatic Renewal Ministries (INC) gutted by fire Sunday during church Service destroying a section of the church building.
The church popularly as CRM aka Transformation Faith Centre, is situated off Jesus Saves road in Oshimili south local government area of Delta state.
It was gathered that the fire broke out in one of the rooms in the Church complex where a phone was plugged and kept on top of a mattress.
Men of the state fire service quickly intervened to safe the situation after a section was gulfed by the inferno which destroyed some of the properties.
Although earlier, members of the Church initially prevented onlookers and bystanders from taking shots of the disaster.
According to an eyewitness, “church members were seen scapering for safety as fire was increasing.
“Church members especially youths and strong men tried to quench the fire when it started, but it was beyond their control.”
