World Bank MCRP implementation support mission team visit Yobe

As part of the effort to support government of Yobe state towards rehabilitation and improving critical service delivery and infrastructure, the World Bank Multi-Secroral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP) for North East (Yobe) has Wednesday visited the for Implementation Support Mission.

MCRP is a world bank projects aimed to improve the livelihood opportunities of conflicts and displaced communities.

In his welcome address, Yobe state project coordinator MCRP, Alhaji Musa Idi Jidawa, said the visit was critical to the MCRP project in the state,especially now that they have crossed the mid-term and approaching the final stage of implementation which requires a lot of reflections by learning through what worked well and identify what need to be improved so that gaps can be filled.

“We will continue with this momentum of embodiment of sustainability component in our design,inclusive approach in implementation and quality in delivery throughout the remaining period of the project,to achieve value for money and maximise the positive outcomes of the project among its diverse beneficiaries.

“Let me therefore charge our staff in the PCU to avail themselves of the opportunities provided by this Implementation Support Mission team in our mist to ask questions,seek for clarification from members of the Task Team,especially during break out session to deepen understanding.

“To our teeming stakeholders from the line MDAs, this is another opportunity and good time for reflections,especially on your experiences with the infrastructure and services provided by the MCRP, ” he said.
In his remarks during the discussion on their mission to the state at the MCRP Yobe Office with ministries, Department and Agencies(MDAs), the implementation mission team leader Mr Fuad Malkawi, said the mission is different from the other mission, because its talks about what happened in terms of compliance,what are the set targets looking for the future.

Malkawi stated that,it is on a critical important mission as it come about 6 months from the original closing that ahead of original closing date of the project.

“Best on that,this mission is going to look at compliance on all aspects, ability to finish all project that earlier implemented in the state,” he said.
