Insurgents attacks: Buni reviews security situation in border communities

Yobe state security council under the chairmanship of Governor Mai Mala Buni Wednesday reviewed the security situation in the border communities affected by recent security challenges in the state.

Special adviser to the governor on security matters Brig. Gen. Abdulsalam Dahiru (retd), stated this in Damaturu while briefing the press after the state security council meeting.

He explained that the recent security challenges in some villages in Geidam local government area was as a result of infiltration of suspected insurgents into the state.

“Yobe state shares common borders with Borno state, and an international boundary with Niger Republic.

“The security agencies have deployed security men to the area and we are studying the report on the infiltration to forestall future occurence.

“Meanwhile, calm and normalcy have returned to the affected villages,” he said.

He called on the people to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements and persons in their communities..
