Woman, 65, shot while returning from cross over Mass

The family of Bioseh in Onisha Ugbo, Aniocha North LGA in Delta state, celebrated New Year in pain as their wife and mother, Mrs. Joy Bioseh, 65, was allegedly shot twice and cut with a battle axe while returning from the New Year eve Mass.

The victim’s son, Chinedu Bioseh, said that her mother was attacked on New Year at about 1am, by one Agi Nwaicha, who also hails from Onicha Ugbo Town, over farm land.

Chinedu said while others were celebrating the New Year his family was running around trying to save the file of his mother.

According to Chinedu, the suspect’s family had been dragging his family’s farm land which lead to his mother being attacked.

“Our farm land is what the boy’s family is dragging with us. Yesterday night the boy lost his twins brother and he thought that we have hand in the death of his brother.

“My mum went to church and came back around 1am only to find out that the boy was waiting for her with a gun. He shot my mum twice and then used a battle axe on her,” Chinedu stated.

He said his mother was receiving treatment at in the community while the case had been reporter at Issele- Uku Police Station.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the state, DSP Oneme Onovughagbogaya, could not be reached for comments as at the time of going to press, however, a senior police officer at the command confirmed the incident.
