Wike speaks on Emefiele’s suspension

Former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, has expressed his support for President Bola Tinubu’s suspension of Godwin Emefiele, as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

As a critic of Emefiele’s policies, particularly the Naira redesign, Wike described the President’s move as courageous and well-timed.

Reacting on Friday, he further emphasized that he and other members of the G5 are impressed by President Tinubu’s focused and exemplary leadership, which they believe will guide the country towards prosperity.

Blueprint had earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu has suspended the governor of CBN, Godwin Emefiele, from office with immediate effect following the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.
