Why NFF is in huge financial debt – Gusau

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is in the red to the tune of almost N1.7billion naira.

NFF presidential aspirant, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau disclosed this in Abuja when unveiling his vision and mission for the Dankaro House.

The debts which have continued to pile up over the years were monies being owed hotels and marketers.

Alhaji Gusau an astute accountant of over 35 years said the only way left out for the NFF was to diversify and generate more revenue in the areas of marketing and sponsorship.

“We need to mobilise additional revenue to fund our programmes. We urgently need to get our budget bigger. Generate more revenue and plug leakages in the system.

“As an accountant, we need to be prudent in our spending and make concise efforts in paying our debts,” he said.

He stressed that irrespective of the planning and strategies by all other candidates involved towards the elections, God has already destined the end result during the polls.

The astute Zamfara FA chairman noted that the delegates knows his competence and remains unperturbed that they’ll make the right decisions because his policy will be transparent, efficient ,collaborate with the goal of making Super Eagles a global power force.

Gusau and 10 others will slug it out for the presidential ticket on September 30 in the NFF elective congress slated for Benin city, Edo-state.
