Benue offers abundant investment opportunities in agric sector – Alia


Benue state governor, Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia, Sunday, stated the wealth of investment opportunities available in the state, particularly within the agricultural sector.


His remarks came during a courtesy visit by Baroness Sandip Verma, a member of the House of Lords from the United Kingdom, at the Government House, Makurdi.


Governor Alia expressed appreciation for Baroness Verma’s efforts in promoting development across Africa.


He acknowledged her reputation and positive intentions for Nigeria and the entire continent.


“We consider ourselves the Food Basket of the Nation,” Governor Alia stated.


“While we missed out on past opportunities, our current government aims to harness the immense potential available to us as a state and as a people.”


The governor expressed optimism that Baroness Sandip Verma’s impressive track record in Africa and Nigeria would greatly benefit Benue state.


In her address, Baroness Verma reciprocated the warm reception, emphasising her connection to Nigeria and her belief in its global contributions.
