Where is Bauchi North’s Kachallah?

I respectfully write to call the attention of Dr. Sama’ila Dahuwa, senator representing Bauchi North, Bauchi state to the outcry of his constituents about the absence of an empowerment programme for their teeming populace. Sir, it is no longer hearsay that you made promises during the debate organised by the Katagum Students’ Association for those vying for senatorial seat that you if elected, you will bring various skill acquisition programmes for the Bauchi North constituents to enable them to make ends meet.

Sadly, since your swearing into office as a senator representing the Bauchi North constituents, you are nowhere to be found, let alone being reminded of your campaign promises. In addition, it was you who publicly claimed that creating skill acquisition programmes for the constituents in question is far better than securing government jobs for them. This is because nowadays, government jobs are not certain but a complete disappointment! However, supporting a number of youth to be fully engaged in holding small-scale businesses is your prime concern. Why? Holding businesses of any kind will enable youth to become self-reliant.

Yet, you have not lived up to your claimed assertion of aiding your people to become self-reliant and not to depend on government jobs to earn a living. Despite the fact that many senators are always trying to make those they represent productive by bringing several empowerment programs to them, this didn’t serve as an example for you to follow suit.

Alas! With all the cries of your people on top of their voices, be it on different media handles or physical confrontation, nothing reasonable has been done to deal with their concerns. I am sure that you are fully aware of the alarming number of jobless youth, which is quite frightening and detrimental to the peace of Bauchi North.

However, the presence of such empowerment programs could hugely help in reducing the number of jobless youth. Sir, your promise of furnishing youth with funds to start small-scale businesses was what made them vote you into power. Failure to fulfill those promises is not only disappointing but also detrimental to the confidence that your constituents have in you.

Is that how your predecessor, Sen. Adamu Bulkachuwa, served the Bauchi North constituents? Or are you trying to display the fact that you are not ready to serve? Please wake up, Kachallah!

Your predecessor had done many things developmental for the Bauchi North, ranging from empowerment programs to securing government jobs for the alarming populace.

Therefore, I urge Kachallan Katagum to better wake up from his chamber of slumber and heed the outcry of Bauchi North, as it is never too late to start fulfilling his campaign promises.

Mallam Musbahu Magayaki,

Bauchi North constituent,

Sabon Fegi, Azare.

Bauchi State.
