Governor of Taraba state, Darius Dickson Ishaku, has expressed shock over the demise of Danmasanin Kano, Alhaji Maitama Sule, described him as “a rare gem.” Recalling his last encounter with the late ambassador, the governor said he was shocked when he listened to the late Danmasani Kano recount the events of 1960 as if they just happened yesterday. Th e governor, however, said what Maitama Sule stood for was the unity of Nigeria, peaceful coexistence and urged other Nigerians and leaders to emulate him.
