We will partner stakeholders to propagate reforms being implemented by Tinubu – DG VON

The Director General of the Voice of Nigeria (VON ), Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace, has said the agency utilize its assets to vigorously propagate reforms being implemented by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the Renewed Hope Agenda of the president is beginning to address security and economic challenges of Nigeria and it is the responsibility of VON and other stakeholders in the media to enlighten Nigerians both at home and in diaspora about it.

The DG stated this Thursday when he led management staff of VON on a courtesy call on the Director General of Nigerian Television Authority ( NTA) Salihu Dembos in Abuja.

He said: “As the global mouthpiece of Nigeria, we want to vigorously propagate the steady reforms going on Nigeria since the inauguration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“As you are all aware, president Tinubu has stated clearly that his mission is to reposition and reform Nigeria . And as the minister of information and national orientation will always say ‘ we would continue to say it as it is.” As Voice of Nigeria we are not going to lie about Nigeria but we’re only going to emphasize on only positive stories about Nigeria and Africa. And there are many; our destinations, diversities and many other good things.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President is beginning to address security and economic challenges of Nigeria. It is our duty to talk about this. NTA is already doing it we want to collaborate with you in further deepening that.

“We shall talk about what the government is doing to create awareness and understanding because as a democracy we have no choice but to continue to speak to Nigerians. It is their right to know. We will reach out to Nigerians especially those in the Diaspora through our terrestrial and digital platforms. “

He said VON is determined to adequately inform Nigerians at home and diaspora about the good things happening in Nigeria in order to avoid misinformation and disinformation.

“Some of the issues you see on social media are due to lack of understanding. There is lack of information and mischief makers capitalise on the information vacuum to feed the people with fake news and other negative tendencies.

” We are in the age of noise, if you don’t tell your story nobody will tell it for you. We are determined to have a voice of Nigeria that will be truly Voice of Nigeria. I am determined to create truthful and believable content about Nigeria and Africa,” he said.

He said VON is willing to partner with and learn from the wealth of experience of NTA in the areas of content creation.
“We want to latch on your reputation of being credible, reliable and accurate source of news and entertainment to build our brand, the voice of Nigeria brand. We want to tap into your experience and redefine VON as a global player in radio broadcasting,’ he said.

In his remarks, the DG NTA assured VON that will partner with her in all areas listed by the Mallam Ndace to change the narrative about Nigeria especially outside the country.

He lauded Ndace for his vigour and commitment to repositioned VON.
