The chairman Council of Ulama of Jama’atu Izalatul Bid’a Wa’ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir, Thursday, said the Islamic organisation supported President Muhammadu Buhari in all elections for his honesty and integrity.
Sheikh Jingir was speaking at the JIBWIS annual conference on education and promotion of peace that took place at the Abuja International Conference Centre.
Sheikh Jingir said President Buhari has not changed his selfless service, adding: “I supported him in all the elections he contested because of his honesty and integrity. He sticks to truth always. He is an exemplary leader that all Nigerians must emulate him,” he said.
Responding, President Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, appreciated the support of the cleric and the Sunni based Islamic organisations for their patience and understanding of the system of his leadership aimed at creating a corrupt free and economic viable country.
“I thank you all, and also urged all Nigerians to offer their contribution towards this project in assisting government to redeem it pledges in providing qualitative education for our children.
“I wish to contribute the biggest amount, but I am not wealthy enough, but I brought small personal contribution amount in cash,” he said.
This year’s JIBWIS annual conference was designed for an appeal fund of 175 million naira for the purchase of educational materials, equipments and operational vehicles in additional to completing the organization’s Islamic center in Guzape Abuja.
