We now operate paperless office – HoS

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, said weekend that she operates a paperless office as part of the evolving digital revolution.

The Head of Service said this at a Special Jumaat held at the National Mosque in Abuja as part of activities marking the 2023 Civil Service Week.

“For the first time in the history of Nigeria, the OHCSF no longer works with paper, resulting into remarkable time and cost savings,” she said.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Dr Nasir Sani Gwarzo, the Head of Service said the digital revolution is taking shape in the federal civil service for greater efficiency and productivity.

She said apart from digitalisation, the groundwork for the implementation of Performance Management System (PMS) is currently going on.
She said the system signals the phasing out of the old APER system of assessment.

“PMS, a globally accepted reviewing and rating mechanism, is more effective and objective and capable of improving workers’ and organisational performance, when fully deployer,” she said.

She said the recently launched revised Public Service Rules (PSRs) would strengthen the system, enhance performance and foster growth.

According to her, the federal civil service is witnessing tremendous improvement in the initiation and implementation of policies, plans and reforms under her leadership.
