Umahi casts vote, lauds INEC

There is massive turn out of voters in the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Ebonyi state.

In most of the polling units visited by Blueprint including Amaezekwe polling unit in Ezza south local government  area, Okoffia polling  unit ,  Onunwafor Umunaga polling units, Ohaozara local government  area , Onunwakpu polling unit in Ikwo local government area, Ndinwankwegu/Amagu polling unit in Abakaliki local government area  among others have recorded impressive voter turnout.

Ebonyi state GovernorDave Umahi while speaking to journalists shortly after casting his votes, in Onuwafor ward Umanaga Ohaozara LGA commended the electorate  for their massive turn  out.

He also applauded INEC for smooth conduct of the elections.

“The election is excellent, very beautiful. Mamood Yakubu should be commended. If any process fails, it is the fault of the politicians, it is not that of INEC because they have done very well”, he said.

Umahi said the massive turn out of voters in the election was a statement by the people that leaders should stop taking the masses for granted.

“If you are a leader and you are voted into office, your eyes must be on the people because the level of turnout is an indication that Nigerians are beginning to know their rights”, Umahi said.
