Flying Eagles coach, Issa Ladan Bosso has named ever reliable central defender Daniel Bamaiyi as captain of the team to the U20 AFCON in Egypt.

Bamaiyi has grown into the main pillar of the Flying Eagles back four in the last few months.

He, like the bulk of the squad to Egypt, did not feature in the U20 AFCON qualifiers in May 2022.

The youngest player in the squad, Daniel Daga, has been designated as one of the assistant captains.

Enyimba defender Tosin Adegbite led the team to win the WAFU B U20 AFCON qualifiers in May 2022.

The Flying Eagles will begin their U20 AFCON campaign on February 19 against Senegal.

Hosts Egypt and Mozambique are the other teams in Group A based in Cairo.
