Troops neutralise 8 bandits, rescue 4 kidnapped victims


The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Friday, said troops of Operation FOREST SANITY nutralise eight bandits at Dutse Uku forest in Lanke and Danmarke villages both in Gummi Local Government Area, Zamfara state.

A statement by Director Defence Media Operations Maj.-Gen Musa Danmadami, said the troops also rescued 4 kidnapped victims.

The statement reads, “Troops of Operation FOREST SANITY conducted fighting patrol to clear bandits camp at Dutse Uku forest in Lanke and Danmarke villages both in Gummi Local Government Area, Zamfara state.

“While on the fighting patrol troops came in contact and engaged terrorists in a fire fight and neutralized eight (8) bandits while others scampered for safety with gun shoot wound.

“Troops exploited the general area after the fire fight and rescued 4 kidnapped victims, recovered six (6) AK 47 rifles, forty (40) rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, six (6) AK 47 magazines and thirty two (32) motorcycles among others items.

“The military high command commends troops of Operation FOREST SANITY and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on criminal activities.”
