Yobe property agents impeach Hamza, appoint interim chair

The Property Agents and Landlords Association Of Nigeria, Yobe state chapter has impeached its caretaker chairman, Inusa Alhaji Hamza, and appointed Chiroma Alhaji Kolo as interim chairman.

The executive members of the association took the decision of impeaching the chairman on Thursday, due to what it described as, “lack of accountability and transparency.”

In its meeting held on November 4, 2022, 14 out of the 16 executive members of the association unanimously agreed to impeach the former care taker chairman of the due to what they called, “his inability to lead the association.”

They also outlined some of the offences committed by the former chairman to include denial of welfare to members and not listening to members complaint and advice among others.

Secretary of the association Ya’u Samaila said the impeachment was conducted in line with the constitutional mandate of the association.

In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed caretaker chairman Kolo promised to justify the confidence reposed on him by the members of the association.

The association which has over 500 members had apointed Hamza as caretaker executive chairman after the demise of it executive substantive chairman, Habu Mutti, who died in a road accident along Abuja-Kaduna highway.
