The mandate of the Bayelsans

The first time I travelled to Bayelsa state was in November 2020. During my stay from November 2020 to August 2022, I’ve witnessed alot of developmental projects by the administration of the present governor Senator Douye Diri.

Notable among them was the transformation of the popular Tombia round about which used to be a criminal hub for various bad elements in the state where you can be robbed in a broad daylight in the very presence of security personnel. Making a phone call was suicidal.

Thugs in Tombia were operating without any fear. Within a short period of time, Governor Douye Diri made sure that the place is safe for everyone.

Even the marketers selling various things in the place are now doing their businesses without any fear. Peace returned to Bayelsa like never before.

As part of his hospitable gesture, the hausa people who are doing one business or the other in the state became safe. This made the Hausa people living in bayelsa to feel more at home.

My encounter with the governor was when I was invited to the government House by his able ADC whom I know personally. I was given a special treatment as a guest.

As a Muslim, I thought I would be looked down upon, but to my surprise, I was given a VIP treatment. This made me to choose Bayelsa State as my second home.

I don’t belong to any political party, but based on the friendly gesture of the governor and his ADC, I have come to understand that the Present administration of Bayelsa state is not in any way biased, religiously and culturally.

I’ve also witnessed some developmental projects embark upon by Senator Douye Diri. In my own opinion, Senator Douye Diri is the right candidate for the Bayelsans.

As the saying goes, the price for a job well done is an opportunity to do more. Bayelsans should be wise and give this honourable gentle man another opportunity to consolidate on the foundation that he has already laid down for the progress of their state. Be wise Bayelsans.

Let’s vote for Douye Diri again.
