Terrorism: Bauchi armoured corps refurbishes 19 war vehicles


In their determination to wage spirited war against terrorists in the northern part of the country, the Nigerian army armoured corps in Bauchi state has refurbished 19 of its war vehicles for use by its troops.


Commissioning the vehicles at the Nigerian army armoured corps headquarters in Bauchi yesterday, the commander of the Corps Major General Mohmammed Magaji said the idea to refurbish the war cars was to equip his officers that would be deployed to war zones with healthy vehicles and enable them succeed.


He said the gesture was in line with the policy of the Nigerian army to prepare and boost the morale of its personnel to combat terrorists in the country.


Magaji who lauded the chief of army staff Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai for constructing a 3.2 kilometers access road to the army training range in Bauchi said the corps on its parts embarked on renovation of some facilities and fixing of its vehicles to complement Buratai’s efforts.


Also speaking, the chief of army staff represented by the head of policy and planning unit Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun who attended the commissioning ceremony of the refurbished cars hailed the army armoured corps action.


He promised that the army headquarters is ever ready to support all army formations nationwide to discharge their statutory duties.


According to him, the military have the mandate of providing external security to Nigeria by protecting its territories.


He charged the troops to deal decisively with criminals across the nation.
