Following his emergence as the Chairman of Committee on Sports in the House of Representatives, President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, has congratulated Honourable Abubakar Ekene Adams.
This was expressed in a statement signed by his media Aide, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson.
“This appointment is well deserved. Honourable Ekene Adams has been an athlete, an administrator and a core lover of sports.
“I recall years back, when few disgruntled elements tried to cause confusion in Kaduna SWAN when I was the chairman, he made a difference by coming in to pacify all parties involved,” SWAN President recalled.
He expressed optimism that Honourable Ekene Adams would do a lot to impact sports positively as Reps Sports Committee chairman.
“We wish him well as he chairs the committee and appeal to all members of his committee and agencies they will oversight to give him the maximum cooperation,” Benjamin said.
SWAN has already rooted an official congratulatory letter to the lawmaker representing Chikun/Kajuru constituency in Kaduna state.
It would be recalled that Hon. Adams, the Chairman and CEO of former Kada City FC, which played in the Premier League, was until his venture into politics in 2023, the General Manager of Remo Stars.
He also chaired a sports committee created by immediate past Kaduna State Speaker, Ibrahim Zailani.
